WORLD BANK PRAISED BULGARIA FOR THE CADASTRE
The World Bank (WB) has raised its rating of the Cadastre and Real Estate Register project to satisfactory, the Ministry of Regional Development and Public Works (MRDPW) announced on Tuesday (June 20). The better evaluation was a result of the inspection of the bank's Supervisory Mission which visited Bulgaria May 29 to June 2, 2006. The project's fulfilment was discussed during the mission and it was established that all activities projected in the plan from March 2006 were carried out. The WB experts report as a fair result the project's restructuring, the finalization of the supplement for the loan agreement, and the still stronger commitment of partners.
The bank also gives a positive evaluation to the laid foundation of the System for Monitoring and Appraisal and the organized training of the experts, engaged in the project, the announcement reads, specifying that under the Cadastre and Real Estate Act the Cadastre Agency and the Registration Agency have launched joint activities in Blagoevgrad, Dobrich and Kavarna.
The plan for operation within the next 6-month period (from June to October 2006) was outlined during the mission, MRDPW insiders said, adding that monthly monitoring of all unfulfilled actions to that moment would be carried out. The establishment of a joint IT-system and preparation of monitoring for its development through the so-called managing committee has been set as an activity of priority importance.
