SIMEON HIRED AN ITALIAN LAWYER
Simeon Saxe-Coburg-Gotha hired the Italian lawyer Gian Domenico Caiazza as well as experts from the Image company who monitor how human rights are observed in the media. He authorized them to watch the course of the scandal in Italy and to monitor articles already published and those to be published in the Italian press in order to find whether his rights have been offended.
Asked by a BANKER weekly reporter whether a libel and offence trial would be initiated, Saxe-Coburg-Gotha's spokesperson Tsvetelina Ouzounova said that the experts would judge whether there are reasons to do so when they read the publications.
Pierluigi Nardi is not a lawyer of the leader of the National Movement Simeon II (NMSII) as the Bulgarian National Television announced last Tuesday, Ouzounova added. The Italian lawyer is keeping an eye on the case being a personal friend of Simeon Saxe-Coburg-Gotha. This is not an investigation against the king but just an examination of a list of 400 names mentioned in phone calls between Vittorio Emanuele and Pierpaolo Cerani, representatives from 23 Vrabcha street assure. In Italy, it is a standard procedure for the prosecutors' office to inspect all possible links without claiming the people concerned investigated. What is more, the name of the NMSII leader has only been mentioned in the conversations between the prince of Savoia and the businessman Cerani which were published by the Bulgarian media, too.
