The 8th edition of the Bulgarian-Turkish exhibition Balkanexpo was officially opened on November 14 by the Minister without Portfolio Nedjet Mollov. The forum attracted 48 Turkish companies this year, most of which are making their debut at a Balkan trade exhibition. Most of the participants are from the textile industry and according to their representatives, plan to invest in Bulgaria by bidding in tenders for the privatisation of local enterprises from the branch or through joint operation with Bulgarian businessmen. The event's organizers pointed out that the economic crisis in our southern neighbour had forced a lot of Turkish firms to redirect their capitals to other countries in the region. Bulgaria occupies an important part in these plans because of its geographic closeness to Turkey and due to the cheap production resources in our country.
