WAZ HAS PURCHASED THREE MACEDONIAN NEWSPAPERS
The German company WAZ became majority owner of the shares of three of the five dailies, published in Macedonian in Skopje, the Bulgarian National Radio announced. The dailies are: Dnevnik, Utrinski Vestnik, and Vest. Their circulation is between 130,000 and 150,000. The publications have different profiles and orientation. The contract includes a clause for maintaining the dailies' independent editorial policy. The three newspapers will have a single printing house, marketing and circulation, but they will preserve their profile and editorial independence. A former Macedonian ambassador to Germany will be probably the coordinator of WAZ in Skopje. The signed agreement gives the German company a monopoly position on the Macedonian newspaper market.
