TAX OFFICIALS WILL BE GIVING CONSULTATIONS EACH THURSDAY
Special reception-rooms in the 28 regional taxation offices will be giving pay-free consultations to citizens as of October 1, between 14.00-16.00 hrs. each Thursday. So far explanations could be received only from the Chief Taxation Administration. In 2001 and 2002 about 3,500 inquiries were filed each year and were answered by only 13 tax officials. For that reason many of the inquiries have not been answered yet. When the regional offices are not sufficiently competent to reply the asked questions, they will send them in written to some of the regional taxation centres, set up in the towns of Veliko Tirnovo, Varna, Bourgas, Plovdiv, and Sofia, and in the Big Taxpayers Administration in the capital city. These centres will control the application of tax legislation and will represent the taxation administration in case deeds issued by it are litigated in court.
