Bulgarian American Credit Bank signed a long-term credit agreement amounting to EUR4.5M, which will be launched by the Dutch Development Bank.

Economic Investment Bank's shareholders will hold their general meeting on June 18. EIBank's profit amounts to BGL998,000 as of December 31, 2000. Credits launched total BGL94M. Besides its regular duties, the general assembly will also vote for a BGL3M mortgage bond issue.

DSK Bank Managing Board is preparing a programme for reduction of interests on credits for individuals. Redemption plans of clients who have already signed credit agreements will be up-dated according to the new interest rates.

Bulgaria's foreign currency reserve amounts to BGL7,058M as of June 8, 2001. It has grown by almost BGL126.5M for just a week.

Since June 11, Eurobank is offering a new service to its clients called Silver Deposit. It is available to anybody whose savings exceed BGL3,000. For each Silver Deposit opened in the bank clients receive a free Accident insurance in DZI. In case of an accident the customer will be paid a compensation worth up to BGL10,000.

Unionbank Bourgas branch office will start offering loans under a joint programme with EBRD and the European Union for crediting small and medium-sized enterprises. At present this type of credits is launched by the bank's head-office in Sofia and by the branches in Plovdiv, Varna and Rousse. Till June 11, Unionbank has launched 277 loans exceeding BGL8.45M on the credit lines from Creditanstalt fur Wiederaufbau and EBRD.

Asto Metal company will make safes for the Bulgarian National Bank. The company was chosen among 24 Bulgarian and foreign applicants. Asto Metal will be paid USD1M for the production of 50 fireproof safes. It turns out however that nobody remembers when and where the terms of the competition have been published.
