OFFICES FOR ASSISTING BUSINESS TO BE OPENED
The executive agency for promoting small and medium-sized enterprises, set up in September, will open its regional units in 26 district centres. Such offices are currently operating in only five towns, the agency's Executive Director Stanimir Barzashki announced. They will provide consulting services and will encourage small entrepreneurs to participate in international fairs and exhibitions. The agency implements two projects, one of which is connected with assistance for small and medium-sized enterprises in the meat sector for the introduction of a quality control system. It is financed by BGN1MN from the Ministry of Economy. Entrepreneurs will eb able to count on grant aid, amounting to half of the expenses for the introduction of the self-control system, but not more than BGN10,000 for each individual enterprise. The implementation of individual project of the firms, approved for financing, will continue till October 31, 2005, i.e. the effective term for the project's activity is about nine months.
