NEW DEPUTIES APPOINTED TO TWO MINISTRIES
Valeri Nikolov is the new Deputy Minister of Regional Development and Public Works. He was appointed by an order of Prime Minister Simeon Saxe-Coburg-Gotha on May 4, and succeeded to the post Roumen Mitov who filed in his resignation last week. In his motives for quitting the position Mr. Mitov pointed out some disagreements with the Minister of Regional Development and Public Works Valentin Tserovsky. The new Deputy Minister has a master's degree in landscape and environment preservation from the Sofia University, as well as a degree in journalism. He is a doctor in ecology from the International Platon Academy in Thessaloniki and has specialized twice in Italy.From 1998 to 2003, Mr. Nikolov was president of the Sofia-based Data Group consortium and in the 1992 - 2000 period he was vice president of the Ambiente international consortium. Mr. Nikolov has been manager of the companies Ecovit and Omex, as well as deputy director general of the Sofia-based Vicom. He speaks English, Italian and Russian.By another order dated May 4, the Premier replaced Tatyana Kostadinova, Deputy Minister of Youth and Sports, appointing to the position Elitsa Neshevska, who was so far secretary of the same ministry. Ms. Neshevska, 31 years old, graduated from the State Academy of Music in 2000.
