In the end of last week the software giant Microsoft reached an agreement for joint operation with its rival Oracle, Financial Times reported. The agreements are directly related with the companies' development of software products for INTERNET. Oracle, together with IBM and Sun, uphold the use of Java for the development of such applications, thus making that programme language a standard for the IT departments of consumers. Microsoft, on its part has a similar technology of its own - Dotnet - which is Java's competitor. Until recently Oracle's founder and CEO Larry Ellison has been one of Microsoft's most ardent critics. Now, Oracle insiders say they will ensure greater consistency of their software for database with Microsoft's applications for the development of software. Thus, it will be easier of the big companies which use database of Oracle to work out applications, based on the platforms of Microsoft.
