MICROSOFT AND COMPAQ EQUIP A LAB IN SOFIA UNIVERSITY
Microsoft and Compaq have jointly financed the equipment of a computer laboratory worth USD110,000 at the Faculty of Mathematics and Informatics at the Kliment Ohridsky University in Sofia. We do not consider this a donation, but a way to restore the interrupted chain state government - universities - private sector. Our aim is to help increase the number of experts in informatics, on which the local computer companies would rely in the future, Teodor Milev, Managing Director of Microsoft Bulgaria announced.According to the faculty's Dean Yordan Mitev, the importance of this donation is especially great when the Kliment Ohridsky University counts mainly on financiang from the state, but operates in market conditions. Money for training students under Microsoft's progarmmes are also earmarked in the funds extended by the two leading IT companies.
