MICHELIN TRIES EXPANSION IN BULGARIA
The French automobile tyres producer Michelin is planning an expansion on the Bulgarian market. We purchased plants in Romania, Poland, Hungary, and other countries in that part of Europe. When the market in Bulgaria allows it, we'll step on it, Emilia Gigova from the Corporate Communications department of Michelin's representative office in this country announced at a press conference. The French company is a world leader in the branch, holding a 20-percent share on the international market of tyres. Its sales for the first half of 2002 totalled EUR7,821MN. Michelin's two new products were presented at the press conference. One of the articles - Michelin Alpine - are winter tyres with a special design, ensuring problem-free driving on slippy road surfaces. The other new article, which has already been launched on the market, are the tyres Krisalp HP, intended for medium and high-class automobiles. The company's products enjoy the interest of Formula 1 teams. The French manufacturer has been supplying tyres to the participants in the rally since 2001.
