MEASURES FOR INCREASING EXPORTS DISCUSSED BY MINISTERS VASSILEV AND PASSY
The opportunities for increasing Bulgarian exports were on the agenda of the meeting between Deputy Premier and Minister of Economy Nikolai Vassilev and the Foreign Minister Solomon Passy this week. They analyzed the current state of the country's foreign policy and economy.The two noted the record-high number of holiday makers in May 2002, which they attributed to the Cabinet's joint efforts, and discussed measures for keeping and improving this tendedncy. Mr. cited figures that more than 1,200 visas for Bulgaria are being issued in Russia every day.Vice Premier Vassilev recalled that representatives of the two ministries have been for a long time discussing the opportunities for imporving foreign economic relations with other countries and regions. The Foreign Minister noted the coordinated joint operations in Russia, China, and the USA where the two ministers paid successive official visits. Mr. Vassilev descrives the visits as indicative and said this trend would be maintained in the future.
