MEASURES AGAINST CABLE STEALING
Measures adopted in the end of last year by the Ministry of Economy to tighten up the metal trade regime, have already proved effective. At least five companies will lose their licence, either for not submitting their quarterly reports or for keeping metals with unclear origin.
The purpose of the schedule for trading with non-ferrous metals is to avoid intermediaries. The idea of the ministry is to link the companies, producing that tape of scrap with the producers, i.e. the metallurgy plants
These measures will be effective till the adoption of a regulation for the trade with metal scrap. That would mean fifteen times higher fees in case of violation of the regime. The new range is between BGL15,000 and BGL50,000.
