HUNGARY TO INVEST IN BULGARIAN PROJECTS
Hungary may invest in the construction of the second bridge over the Danube at Vidin-Kalafat, it became known on October 14 after the meeting between President Georgi Purvanov and his Hungarian counterpart Ferenc Madl who is on a two-day visit to Bulgaria. Hungary is also interested in the rehabilitation of ports on the Danube, in the construction of transport Corridor IV, and in the sphere of machine-building and power engineering. A business forum was also held within the visit's framework. The two countries signed an agreement for cooperation in the sphere of culture, science and education. President Purvanov said that both countries are ready to close agreements in aviation, posts and telecommunications, leisure industry, and the mutual recognition of documents. According to Mr. Purvanov, the contractual and legal basis for bilateral cooperation needs updating. President Madl again voiced Hungary's support for Bulgaria's accession into the European Union (EU) and NATO, pointing out his country's readiness to share with us its experience in that respect. Our main aim is that all economic subjects in the EU should be treated on an equal fooding, Mr. Madl said.
