GLOBUL HAS BEGUN GPRS-TESTS
GloBul demonstrated in front of journalists the possibilities of its GPRS-platform. The General Packed Radio Services (GPRS) technology, which is already operating in dozens of networks worldwide, allows subscribers to surf the INTERNET, exchange files, video signal and photoes, using their mobile telephones only. They can also hold conversations, send fax messages and e-mail. However, GloBul's subscribers will be able to use the new technology only in the autumn, when the network should start officially. For the purpose they will need a GSM-telephone with GPRS-possibilities. The fees will be based on the principle for payment of INTERNET-access.GloBul's GPRS-network is being built jointly with the US telecom company Motorola, which is one of the founders of the new standard.
