FIRST PUBLIC GRAIN STORE TO BE LAUNCHED IN LOVECH
The French-Bulgarian company Bonmix will open in Lovech a licensed public grain store, Dr. Bogomil Iliev, Deputy Executive Director, announced. The company owns a fodder plant in Lovech and a mill in the village of Lometz, in the region of the town of Troyan. Partners in the company are the French firm Sovarex and Tehra-Bulgaria.
The documents of the store were submitted to the National Grain Committee this week. The bank guarantees paid by the company are over BGN60,000. More than 6,000 tons of grain will be kept this year in the store. If the producers in the region show interest, about 10,000 tons of grain will be stored next year. This is going to be the only licensed public store in the region.
The State Fund Agriculture will pay BGN2.50 per ton of stored grain according to contracts with the producers. The price for non-producers will be BGN4. The bank guarantees of Bonmix cover 70 per cent of the value of the grain in store, for which farmers will be able to receive bank credits.
