DEPUTY PREMIER AND MINISTER OF ECONOMY NIKOLAY VASSILEV OPENED CAREER 2002 FORUM
The young and ambitious people are the future of Bulgaria, Deputy Premier and Minister and Economy Minister Nikolay Vassilev said in his address to the students and employers at the opening of the Career 2002 forum on May 21. The event was organized by the Economic Ministry's Bulgarian Dream project, jointly with Job Tiger and Top Team. The aim of the project is to assist employers in choosing their staff and to facilitate students in choosing the right profession at the beginning of their professional career. Many Bulgarian and foreign companies participated in the forum. For the first time, the State has an active participation in such an event.The project includes more than 30 Bulgarian banks and companies, among them Biochim Commercial Bank, BULBANK, HEBROSBANK, Bulgarian Post Bank, Siemens, Sanita Trading, Stambuli - Bulgaria, Balkanpharma, KPMG-Bulgaria, PriceWaterhouseCoopers - Bulgaria, Overgas, etc.The Chairman of the Union of Employees Vassil Vassilev announced that the organization, headed by him, would grant 22 scholarships of BGN1,000 each for training Bulgarian students in economics abroad. On the very first day of the forum it became clear that eight second-year students in economics, law, and information technologies, would be practicing during the summer in multinational companies in London, Tokyo, Madrid, and Milan under the Bulgarian Dream project. Students will also have an opportunity to work in Bulgaria. For that purpose interviews with the candidates were held during the two days of the forum.
