The leading Bulgarian cosmetics producer Aroma won the international jury's award in the Best Corporative Website category with http://aroma-bg.com. EUROBANK's website was also nominated in the same category. The winners in the traditional 2003 BG Site contest, whose fifth edition was held last week, were announced at a ceremony in the Sofia University. The contest, organized by ABC Design in cooperation with M3 Communications Group Inc., PriceWaterhouseCoopers and BG Radio, awards Bulgarian websites that guarantee confidentiality for personal information, respect human rights, do not publish misleading information and are free of spam-messages or child pornography. Winners in the nine categories were selected by an international jury, but people could also vote for their favorites via e-mail. A total of 283 websites took part in the traditional nation-wide competition, with the number of participants continuously growing over the last four years. Among corporate contenders McDonald's website collected the greatest number of audience votes.In the Best Online Shop category www.parfum.bg took the lead, and the Getbg hypermarket enjoyed the clients' prefernces.The State-owned Bulgarian News Agency won this year's contest in the Best Online Media category. The Rousse Municipality came out as the leader among institutions-dedicated websites. Makers of www.aidsbg.info swept the award for Best Online Library. Autobg and Econ were praised by both experts and the audience in the Portal Site category. Bulgarian Maps swept the prize in the Online Services and Communications category, and Teenproblem left behind all contenders among Entertainment Sites.Each of the winners got at least five votes from representatives of the 16-member jury, the organizers of the contest explained. For a third consecutive year the impartiality of the vote was supervised by the inetrnational auditor PriceWaterhouse Coopers, which also arbitrates the global INTERNET Webby awards.
