CONSTITUTIONAL COURT TO BE APPROACHED ABOUT INCREASE OF PATENT TAX

The National Chamber of Entrepreneurs and Craftsmen will approach the Constitutional Court about the Natural Persons Incomes Taxation Act, and more particularly its section regarding patent tax. The taxation genocide of the Government of the National Movement Simeon II was already discussed with the parliamentary group of the Union of Democratic Forces-coalition, Yossif Avramov, Deputy Chairman of the organisation, announced at a press conference. According to him, basic principles of the taxation policy have been violated and the degree of bearability has been passed, which would result in tax evasion and the small-scale business will go to the grey zone. Basic rights of Bulgarian citizens such as the right to work and the right of normal existence have been violated, too.A panel of experts, which will draft the legal regulations for credit cooperatives and associations, will be set up by March 1, 2002, Mr. Avramov added. It will include representatives of the Bulgarian National Bank, of the German Cooperative and Raiffeisen Union, and of four ministies - the Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry, the Ministry of Labour and Social Policies, the Ministry of Economy, and the Finance Ministry. The decision was made by the participants in the public discussion Credit Cooperatives and Associations - a Form to Finance Small and Medium-Sized Business, Their Role and and Significance for the Development of Agrobuisness in Bulgaria, held on December 14, 2001 under the aegis of the Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry.
