BULGARIAN HELICOPTERS TO BE UPGRADED BY AN ISRAELI COMPANY
The Israeli Eibit Systems Ltd. will upgrade the helicopters of the Bulgarian air forces, Gen. Shlomo Mashia, Vice President of the company's Marketing and Business development department, announced. He voiced his hope that the Bulgarian companies, operating in the sphere of defence industry would become partners of Eibit Systems in the preparation of defence programmes. The Israeli company is ambitious to render assistance in bringing the helicopters of the Bulgarian air forces in compliance with NATO requirements. It has already helped Romania to upgrade its SOCAT Puma helicopters. That military aircraft will take part in the Cooperation Key-2003 grand-scale war games involving units of both NATO members and aspirants, which were kick-started in the vicinity of Plovdiv on September 3. Eibit Systems has eqippped with its products more than 4,000 helicopters of American, European and Easteauropean type. The company's proceeds for 2002 amounted to USD827MN, and its expensed for scientific and research work reached USD63MN.
