BULBANK GETS SIX INTERNATIONAL AWARDS
On September 30 the specialized financial magazine Global Finance awarded BULBANK as the best Bulgarian bank for a fourth time in a row. The high distinction was received by Levon Hampartsumyan, Chairman of the bank's Management Board, at an official ceremony held at the International Press Centre in Washington. BULBANK received the award as an acknowledgement for its contribution to the development of the Bulgarian economy, for its efficient work and for its influence on the country's financial sector.The banks from UniCredito Group, including BULBANK, received four of the awards of Global Finance. UniCredito was named Italy's best bank. Zagrebacka Banka, which was bought by the Italians early this year, was announced the best bank of Croatia, and Bank Pekao, also owned by UniCredito, was distinguished as Poland's best bank.For the seventh consecutive time BULBANK also received the Euromoney Award for Excellence 2002 of the British financial magazine Euromoney which is given to the best bank of Bulgaria.The specialized financial issue for Central Europe - Finance Central Europe - awarded BULBANK four prizes. The credit institution was announced Best Bank in Bulgaria 2002. It was also ranked first in the country according to size of assets, capital, and gross profit. Finance Central Europe rates 312 banks from ten countries in Southeastern Europe according to their financial results for 2001. In this list BULBANK steps among the first 36 banks in the region. It is 21st on size of assets, 15th on capital size, 13th on gross profit, 29th on return on assets and 36th on return on equity.
