ATANAS BOUROV FOUNDATION AWARDED ITS PRIZES
This week Atanas Bourov Foundation awarded its bank management and industrial management prizes.
The 2000 bank management prize was awarded to Chavdar Kanchev. The prize is given to him for his overall contribution to bank management. Chavdar Kanchev, 48, graduated from the former Karl Marx High Institute for Economics (currently the University for National and World Economy). After graduation he started his career as an expert in the Convertible Currency Export Payments Division. In April 1982 he was appointed Deputy Director of Litex Bank in Beirouth, in September 1983 he became Deputy Director General of Litex Bank, and in July 1985 - President of the bank. In 1989 he came back to Bulgaria as Director General of the Bulgarian Foreign Trade Bank (BFTB). From March 1991 till October 2000 he was President of BFTB, which in 1994 was renamed to BULBANK.
Atanas Bourov Foundation awarded for the first time a prize for industrial management. It went to Plamen Bobokov, who manages Prista Oil JSC jointly with his brother. The prize is awarded to him for the recovering of the Bulgarian motor oil production.
Пламен Бобоков е роден на 31.10.1968 година. Завършил е право в СУ Климент Охридски. Председател на УС е на Приста ойл АД, която основава заедно с брат си Атанас Бобоков през 1993 година. Една от най-бързо и успешно експанзирали български компании. Приста ойл АД е пазарен лидер с 65-процентен дял в производството и дистрибуцията на моторни масла на нашия пазар и е утвърден доставчик в Румъния, Молдова, Югославия, Македония, Украйна, Турция и други. През април 2000 г. американската компания Техасо купи 25% от акциите на българската компания и Приста ойл стана официален представител на Техасо в България.
Plamen Bobokov was born on 31 October 1968. He graduated from the Legal Department of Sofia University. Currently he is Chairman of the Management Board of Prista Oil JSC, which he founded in 1993 together with his brother. Prista Oil is one of the fastest growing and most successful Bulgarian companies. It is a market leader with 65% market share in the production and distribution of motor oil at the local market. Besides, it is an approved supplier to Romania, Moldova, Yugoslavia, Ukraine, Turkey, etc. In April 2000 the American Texaco bought 25% of the company's shares and Prista Oil became the official representative of Texaco in Bulgaria.
