21 COMPANIES FINED BY CPC
Last week the Commission for Protection of Competition (CPC) fined 21 firms and natural persons from the grain branch to pay BGN2,500 each for not presenting information about their prices. In the March-May period the CPC inspected the movement of prices on the grain market along the wheat-flour-bread chain and in connection with that demanded information about the operation and practices of the bulk of big traders. Most of them responded, but the above-mentioned 21 firms and natural persons did not present the required information, despite the second recalling. Among them are two of the big companies in the branch - Papaz Oil and Diminion Grey - CPC data show. The Union of Grain Producers, chaired by Dimiter Katrandjiev, is also on the same list. Those fined said it was not a question of concealing information in order to deceive the CPC, but rather a matter of negligence on the responsible officers.
